Master of Arts in Education (elevation)

The next step - and a big move for your career - may be easier than you think: Dominican University offers a path to a Master of Arts in Education for those who have completed an endorsement program with us.

Your tenacity and hard work have earned you an endorsement through Dominican.  Are you up for a bit more effort with a big payoff?  Dominican University offers a Master of Arts in Education for a total of 30 hours of graduate coursework.  The number of additional hours varies according to the area of your endorsement.  Additional coursework is selected from School of Education electives.

Endorsements eligible for the Master of Arts in Education option (and number of additional hours required)

Program Overview

  • Time to complete: approximately 1-3 additional semesters
  • Upon completion of one of the School of Education's endorsement programs, Master of Arts in Education candidates must meet the following requirements:

    • Hold a valid Professional Educator License (PEL)
    • Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and no grade lower than a "C" in any endorsement coursework
    • Have completed at least half of their endorsement courses at Dominican University
    • Complete additional coursework to total 30 semester hours
