On Wednesday, November 9, over 20 teachers, students, administrators, and librarians joined faculty, staff, and current students from the School of Education’s Technology Specialist program for its very first Technology for Educators Coding Camp event. Designed to offer teachers practical strategies for integrating coding and technology into learning environments, candidates received 1.5 hours of professional development as they worked through various stations including preceding and Scratch Jr., Ozobots, Spheros, Drones, and robotics.
The evening was filled with an exciting energy and buzz as attendees got the chance to explore and play with cutting edge educational technology. For current students in the Technology Specialist endorsement program, the event offered the opportunity to demonstrate and display some of the incredible work being completed in their courses. The School of Education will host a similar event in the spring and welcomes all attendees interested in earning professional development or simply looking for an entertaining evening with technology!
