The School of Education prepares educators to make a difference by their commitment to fostering values of scholarship, leadership and service within themselves and their students. By providing candidates with a course of study that emphasizes the acquisition of professional knowledge, the expansion of personal insight, and an appreciation of diversity, the School of Education continues to further the mission of Dominican University.
The School of Education offers graduate degree programs in Educational Administration (with Principal endorsement), and Special Education (with Learning Behavior Specialist I endorsement); in addition, the School offers various programs leading to state endorsements in Bilingual Education, English As A Second Language, Reading Teacher/Specialist, and Technology Specialist. At the undergraduate level, the School of Education offers the following programs: Early Childhood Education with Early Childhood Endorsement, Bachelor of Arts/Sciences (liberal arts discipline) with Secondary or K-12 endorsement, Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, and an Education minor.
